Since its launch in March 2020, Nintendo’sAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshas released a series of game updates that provide players with a variety of content. This includes adding island events, introducing returning characters to new players, and implementing themed items born fromcollaborations with other brands such as SanrioandSuper Mario. Now, it seems that Nintendo may still be keeping new content under wraps as the newACNH1.11.1 update will only be bringing fixes to lingering in-game bugs.

Consistent players are likely no strangers to the sheer number ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsupdatesalready implemented in the game. Those just jumping into the title may find the amount a bit overwhelming, making it hard for them to keep track of all available activities on the island. For August, players in the North Hemisphere are likely looking forward to the Bug-Off happening by the end of the month, while all fans can enjoy the in-game fireworks shows taking place every weekend. However, given that August and September only have one-two events in the pipeline,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsseems ripe for new exciting additions to the deserted island getaway.

On the official Japanese Nintendo website, the development team recently shared a post that outlined the changes version 1.11.1 would bring toAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfrom August 07, 2025. The post ended with reminders that players have to have the same update versions for their games if they want to play together.

With just bug fixes in the update, many players have speculated online that the development team may be working on something bigger in the background. This includes rumors that theAnimal Crossingcafe and its resident barista Brewsterwill finally be added to the game’s roster of special villager characters. However, since Nintendo has not announced anything officially, all rumors will likely remain just that, rumors.
