Apex Legends'3rd person mode went live today for a limited time, where previously, gamers had to go through ahidden easter egg challengein order to play in 3rd person. Now, the developers have added the feature to be easily implemented in gameplay, but only for a limited time.

TheApex LegendsLTM is live now, but will only last until January 20th. It seems possible that Respawn is testing out the new feature to see if gamers will want to use it in future renditions of the game, not unlike how it has tested the waters with single and duo LTMs in the past. The third-person perspective is not very different from the regular version of the game, the main difference being that players will now be able to see their character.

Apex Legendshas recently added its Grand Soiree eventgoing on now until the end of January, where gamers can enjoy special challenges, modes, and rewards. All of the new game modes only last for two days and become increasingly more difficult in gameplay. Today and tomorrow, gamers can enjoy the 3rd person mode, but starting the 20th will be the “Always Be Closing Mode” where the ring will do far more damage than in previous games and continuously close.

ApexLegendswill have a total of seven new modes in all as part of the Grand Soiree event. After the Always Be Closing mode ends on January 21st, Respawn will introduce Armed And Dangerous On World’s Edge (January 22-23), King Canyon After Dark (January 24-25), and then finally DUMMIEs Big Day (January 26-27). The general consensus is that Respawn is testing out new forms to seewhich modes are the ones players enjoy the most. Although, with recent reports of PlayStation users not being able to see their daily challenges list, many players aren’t as focused on new modes as much as they are getting the current ones to work.

Withrumors of the next legendabout to enter the arena, it’s clear that Respawn is keeping players on their toes for new and exciting content. The question now is whether or not the 3rd-person mode will be popular enough to add as an option that gamers can see it in another LTM in the future.

Apex Legendsis out now and available to play for free on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
