Apex Legends MobileSeason 2 is in full swing. The newest season saw the introduction ofsupport character Rhapsody, upping the unique mobile port’s roster along with a new map called Pythas Block 0. The party doesn’t stop there, however, asApex Legends Mobileis set to kickstart a brand-new event adding a familiar face along with bringing a ton of event-themed content for fans.
In typicalApex Legendsfashion, the midway point of a season usually brings a massive event that introduces a bevy of cosmetics, balancing changes, and much more. The Hyperbeat Event starts on August 23 and will add Recon Legend and hacker extraordinaire Crypto to the mobile port’s roster, upping the total playable Legends to 13. Unlike Rhapsody, however, Crypto is a Legend from the console port, so fans already have an idea of what to expect when he joins.

The event is set to introduce a brand-new Battle Pass full of skins for characters like Mirage and Lifeline while also introducing a few new weapon skins for guns like the L-Star and Mastiff. Kings Canyon will receive a few new updates along with the introduction of a Rhapsody inspired town takeover much like players have experienced with theWraith Town Takeover in the past. Finally, a new Ranked split will be introduced while adding new Ranked rewards when the Hyperbeat Event launches August 23.
Interestingly enough, while Crypto’s abilities remain largely the same in his mobile debut, the developers have given the hacker a few new updates to match the mobile platform. Crypto’s aerial drones have been reworked to automatically track enemies for a period of time, and they will follow Crypto around as he traverses the battlefield. Crypto will also get abevy of unique Legend perksthat boost his abilities such as “Interrogator,” which reveals enemy squad locations upon performing a Finisher on one of the squad members and “Shut Down,” which allows his Ultimate to deal direct damage to enemy health, although it cannot kill said enemy.
WithApex Legends Mobile, developer Respawn Entertainment have set out to make this feel likea uniqueApex Legendsexperienceversus a standard mobile port of the titular battle royale. There will be plenty more to discover when the Hyperbeat Event launches so be sure to update your mobile devices and join in on the fun.
