The news about the M2 chip comes afterApple’s release of the M1 Ultra, which allowed for the creation of the massively powerful Mac Studio. The M2 wasn’t the only thing revealed by Apple, either. The first two Mac devices to be upgraded to the M2 were also unveiled at WWDC, with more information and availability for purchase coming soon.

According to Apple, the new M2 chip offers incredible power. With 100GB/s of memory bandwidth, an eighteen percent faster CPU, and the ability to process nearly sixteen trillion operations per second, the slim chip will boast incredible power-efficiency and computing prowess. MacOS Ventura was also announced, which will providea new update for Apple appson Mac, along with tools for productivity and multitasking.
The first two notebooks to include the M2 chip will be the MacBook Air and the thirteen-inch MacBook Pro. The Air has received a new fan-less design that allows it to be thinner than previous generations. It will maintain its all-day battery life (with 18 hours of video playback) and will be able to view and edit 4K and 8K video. The MacBook Pro will have even more power, though it has yet to get a new enclosure. There have been a lot of great surprises for Apple users in 2022, and the new M2 is yet another. Though there have been some disappointments, likeApple discontinuing the iPod Touch, users still have plenty to look forward to.
