For those that consider theAssassin’s Creedgames starring Ezio as the best of theAssassin’s Creedgames, they’re going to be quite happy in a month whenAssassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collectionlaunches on Switch. The collection was announced just a few days ago, andAssassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collectionjust received its rating from the ESRB.
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collectionhas previously releasedon the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in 2016, and the collection features some of the most well-known games in the series. The “Ezio trilogy,” as it is sometimes referred to, containsAssassin’s Creed 2,Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, andAssassin’s Creed: Revelations.

As expected,Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collectionhas received an M rating from the ESRB for its use of blood, profanity, sexual content, and just general violence. Every game in the series has received the same rating from the ESRB, and that isn’t likely to change any time soon. After all, the killing of people is an assassin’s job.
The Nintendo Switch port ofAssassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collectionshould run well enough, given that the original games are over a decade old now. There might be a slight downgrade in the graphics of this remastered collection, but that remains to be seen.There are otherAssassin’s Creedgames on Switchthat work decently on the console, so this should be no different.
As of right now, Ubisoft has not made an announcement regarding the next mainline entry in the series, only announcing a speculatedlive service title calledAssassin’s Creed Infinitylast year, which has some fans skeptical. The series used to have annual releases from 2009-2015 and then released four games from 2015-2020. If there is noAssassin’s Creedannounced and released this year, it will mark the longest period of time between mainline releases in the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collectionshould do relatively well on the Switch given the appeal of portability, and theAssassin’s Creedgames can be enjoyed in short bursts. While it is unlikely that more recentAssassin’s Creedgames will make their way to the Switch, this collection should tie over those fans who are looking to dive back into Ezio’s world while they wait for the next mainline game in the series to release.Assassin’s Creed Infinityis speculatedto be a shakeup to the series, perhaps even retconning certain parts of the story, so gamers will have to keep an eye out for the franchise’s future.
