After several fans asked for it, Ubisoft confirmed it was working on a 60 FPS patch forAssassin’s Creed Originslate last year. There has been much said about it since, until relatively recently anyway. Last month, it was confirmed thatAssassin’s Creed Originswould be coming to Game Pass, and many speculated that this would be the perfect time to upgrade the game.
As it turns out, they were right. Ubisoft confirmed, today, that the 60 FPS patch for both PS5 and Xbox Series X would be available on June 2—the same date thatAssassin’s Creed Origins hits Game Pass. Nothing of the patch has been shown, but fans can expect the gameplay to be much smoother.

As many may know,Assassin’s Creed Originswas the flagship title for the franchise’s turn to full-blown open-world RPGs. It was followed byAssassin’s Creed OdysseyandAssassin’s CreedValhalla, all telling the modern story of anew character named Layla Hassan. For those who have yet to play them or for those who have been wanting this patch, June 2 is the date they should be looking at.
There is one thing that remains to be seen, though. Many had hoped that anAssassin’s Creed Odysseycrossover would come toAssassin’s Creed Originsalongside this patch, but this does not seem to be the case. In December, Ubisoft released a crossover update that allowed fans to check out new story content in Odyssey that led to Kassandra’s appearance inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Many had hoped this trend would continue with anew Crossover DLC forAssassin’s Creed Origins, with Kassandra meeting Bayek and/or Aya.
That crossover content certainly hinted that this is possible, and many fans would be excited for such a DLC. It doesn’t seem to be coming with the 60 FPS patch on June 2, but perhaps it will later down the road. After all, fans are currently awaitingnewAssassin’s Creedcontent.
As it stands, there seems to be threeAssassin’s Creedprojects in the work: a VR version of the franchise, a live-service title code-namedAssassin’s Creed Infinity, and a classic stealth action-adventure title codenamedAssassin’s Creed Rift, said to feature Basimas the protagonist. Presumably, Ubisoft will continue the larger open-world RPGs too, but for now,Assassin’s Creed Origins’ 60 FPS patch should be more than enough to please fans.
