Ever sincePersona 4 Goldenreleased on PC, fans of the series have been actively enjoying the game. Whether they are returning to the game or experiencing it for the first time, the PC version ofPersona 4 Goldenhas seen a great deal of success. Within the last several weeks especially, Atlus has begun to take note of the attention the PC port has received.
While thePersonaseries has existed since the late 90s, its presence was largely limited to PlayStation consoles and hardware. It wasn’t until the release of the Xbox 360 port ofPersona 4 Arena Ultimaxwhere Atlus really started to expand the company’s titles to other platforms. In fact, the release ofPersona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinthwas exclusively for the 3DS and that was nearly twenty years after the release of the very firstPersonatitle.

However, as the years have gone on, Atlus has begun to realize that expanding the company’s titles to other platforms outside of PlayStation systems is something that a lot of people want. Many in the gaming community were very excited whenCatherine: Full Bodywas ported to Nintendo Switch. Though, it wasn’t until the PC port ofPersona 4 Goldenwhen the company started to seriously consider the idea of cross platform releases and ports of older games.
When asked in a recent interview about the possibility of PC ports of older titles, an Atlus representative responded by saying that the company plans to release more ports similar toPersona 4 Golden, with multi-platform releases in mind. This response makes sense considering the announcement of an HD port ofShin Megami Tensei: Nocturnefor Nintendo Switch and PS4.
If the PC port ofPersona 4 Goldenand the HD Remaster ofShin Megami Tensei: Nocturneis any indication of the future, the gaming community could see a widespread release of multiple Atlus titles coming to a variety of platforms. Perhaps this will give fans who have been asking for a remaster ofPersona 3newfound hope.
Though, without official word from Atlus in terms of what games will be ported or remastered, there’s no way of knowing what’s to come. Based on thelarge catalog of games that Atlus has to choose from, who’s to say what game could receive a port or a remaster? As of now, there’s no telling what Atlus has in store for fans in the future, but in terms of the games currently announced, fans have a lot to be excited about.
