At the same time, the likes of Eida, among others were fleshed out a bit more as the plot in this arc of the story moves forward. While the start to this arc was rather slow,Borutois now getting interesting again and picking up the pace, which is nothing but fantastic for the fans.
Momoshiki’s Plan
Towards the end of the last chapter, fans saw Kawaki finally catch a glimpse of Boruto spacing out. Knowing that Momoshiki dwells within him, Kawaki immediately came to the conclusion that it was he who was responsible for Boruto’s condition. At the same time, he immediately recognized Momoshiki as a massive threat and, as such, plans to eradicate him once and for all. While Kawaki did attempt to start a scuffle with Boruto, it was immediately snuffed out and was followed by him leaving the premises, despite being warned about not doing so. Having learned to erase his chakra, Kawaki easily found himself shrugging off the Sensor Division of the village and managed to sneak into his very own home successfully.
After a conversation with Naruto, he revealed his true intentions. He cannot trust Boruto anymore and, as such, plans to eliminate him, despite him being his very own brother.,He knows that the Otsutsukiare very dangerous and he plans to root them out one by one. Boruto, being a full-fledged Otsutsuki now, is also on his list. He also went on to reveal that when he heard Boruto had survived, he felt nothing other than failure in his heart.
Himawari’s True Power
While the chapter focused quite a lot on Kawaki and was mostly central to him and his character arc, it also gave fansinteresting bits about Himawari, Boruto’s little sister. Boruto Uzumaki is currently hanging out with Daemon and the two are on the lookout for Kawaki, who has already begun his plan. Daemon is extremely powerful and this is something that the story has pointed out on several occasions. Even Boruto himself acknowledge is the fact that Daemon is freakishly powerful despite being an Otsutsuki himself. That said, Daemon was pleasantly surprised upon seeing Himawari. While at first glance, fans can attribute this to him finding her adorable, that wasn’t the case.

Instead, Daemon mentioned that Himawari is extremely powerful and has something sleeping within her and that she should be able to fend off attacks with killing intent with rather ease. Fans know already that she is not a Shinobi and far from someone capable of holding her own against professional ninjas. However, within her lies a dormant power. Perhaps, this also ties back to how she managed to knock out Naruto on the day he was supposed to attend the Hokage ceremony. While a very small bit, this is surely something that will come into play in the future of the series.
Naruto’s Fate
Perhaps the most important part of Boruto chapter 77 came towards the end when Kawaki decided that he was going to go to any lengths to protect Naruto Uzumaki, his savior. He realizes that Momoshiki, along with all the other Otsutsuki will eventually target Earth. In fact, Boruto Uzumaki, who hosts Momoshiki at the moment, is a massive threat to Naruto and even attempted to kill him just a few chapters ago. As such, Kawaki realizes that he needs to protect the 7th Hokage, even if it means eliminating everyone he holds dear. After being confronted by Hinata, Kawaki proceeded to use his spacetime ninjutsu and send both Naruto and Hinata to a different dimension.
This ties back to the very first chapter of the series where Kawaki mentions that he was going to send Boruto to the same place where he sent the Seventh Hokage. Finally, after nearly 7 years, fans have their answer to what happened to Naruto. As expected, he isn’t dead but rather sent to a different dimension by Kawaki so he can clear out the Otsutsuki by himself and even kill Boruto if need be. From here onwards, the plot for the story is only going to get more interesting and it appears as if the story is now edging closer to its time skip at a blazing speed. Without a doubt, Boruto is only getting better.
