Ever since DICE wrapped its support onStar Wars Battlefront 2, fans of the studio have been looking forward to its next project. Just recently, it was confirmed that DICE’s next game will beBattlefield 6, which will see the long-running first-person shooter franchise make the leap to next-generation platforms. Details on the game remain scarce, but that will certainly change sooner rather than later.

Following months of rumors, speculation, and genuine leaks, DICE and EA have confirmed exactly when they will be pulling the curtain back onBattlefield 6. In a very brief, roughly 10 second teaser trailer, it was confirmed that theBattlefield 6reveal date is Wednesday, June 9 at 7am PT. It seemsBattlefieldfans are going to have to wait until then to learn more substantial information, but the teaser itself may actually reveal more than it seems to on the surface.

TheBattlefield 6reveal date teaser traileris extremely short, and its sole purpose is to let fans know when they can tune in to the proper reveal. But even though the teaser is short, certain aspects of it may actually tease what fans can expect when the game gets its worldwide debut. Of course, it’s always possible the teaser is meant to throw fans off course, but that seems unlikely given what we know about the game through the leaks.

Battlefield 6’s Title

Some months ago, leakers and insiders claimed thatBattlefield 6would not actually be titledBattlefield 6. On the contrary, they suggested that the game would instead simply go by theBattlefieldname with no number attached to it. And everything EA and DICE have said about the game since its existence was acknowledged points in that direction as well, with the teaser being the latest piece of evidence.

EA and DICE have both gone out of their way to avoid calling the newBattlefieldgame “Battlefield 6.” Insteadit has been referred to as “aBattlefieldgame,“which still leaves the door open for it to have some kind of number or subtitle attached. However, the teaser trailer simply refers to the game as “Battlefield,” and so it wouldn’t be surprising at all to find out that it’s going with the previously-leaked, simple title.

Battlefield 6 Setting

Besides potentially confirming the game’s title as being simplyBattlefield, the teaser may also give fans some insight into its setting. The teaser users a glitchy, computerized font that would be out of place if the newBattlefieldwas using a historical setting. It’s not a leap at all to assume that the use of this animation points toBattlefield 6having a near-future setting, which has also been teased by leakers.

Battlefieldfans will find out for sure when the game is revealed on Wednesday, June 9 at 7am PT.

Battlefield 6is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
