Fans will not have to wait much longer for the gameplay premiere of Season 1 ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. New guns, new maps, new modes, and more are headed to theCall of Duty: Black ops Cold War, and the first taste is going to be shown at The Game Awards 2020.
Treyarch and Activision have already shown off astory cinematic trailer for Season 1 ofBlack Ops Cold War, but gameplay has yet to be seen. Many fans are excited to see what the new season will have, as it will both add new content and add features that players have been waiting for, likeCall of Duty: Warzoneintegration.

Season 1 was originally planned to release on December 10, which happens to be the same day as The Game Awards. But theupdate to integrateWarzonetoBlack Ops Cold Warwas delayed to December 16. This means that instead of playing Season 1 on Thursday night, fans will have to be content with simply watching it via the reveal at the awards.
Some elements of Season 1 of the newestCall of Dutyare already known. Activision has revealed thatSeason 1 will see a classicBlack Ops 2map return, as well as the mode Gunfight. Gunfight, in particular, is interesting as it was a brand new entry in 2019’sModern Warfare. Gunfight sees small teams (usually 2) facing off against each other in single life rounds with limited time to fight, in very small maps. The mode caught on for a lot of fans, so it receiving theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wartreatment is neat.
The biggest part of the update will likely be the integration of battle royale.Warzonehas seen 85 million playerssince it launched earlier this year, and it is about to get even more with theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcrowd. The update is reported to give players a brand new map to play in, as well as all of the weapons, perks, and more fromBlack Ops Cold War.
A lot is in store at The Game Awards 2020, including so many exciting winners for things like game of the year, best art direction, best performance, and more. But along with the winners, Geoff Keighley is set to have many reveals in store for fans. Some of which, like Season 1 forBlack Ops Cold War,have already been announced. Others will likely be surprises, which is why it will be thrilling to tune it.
