As part of its Halloween event,Call of Duty: Warzoneis adding a new mode called Ghosts of Verdansk. The Ghosts of Verdansk limited-time mode is similar to theZombie Royale modefrom last year, but it replaces zombies with ghosts. It also adds a new gimmick whereCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers have to manage a Fear meter. IfCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers let their Fear meter get out of control, they can suffer from hallucinations, with something especially bad happening if the Fear meter hits 100%.

Activision gave some examples of what can make aCall of Duty: Warzoneplayer’s Fear meter fill up duringThe Haunting event. This includes taking damage, seeing dead bodies or ghosts, having squadmates downed or eliminated, and even camping, which Activision describes as “cowardice.” Basically, this meansCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers can’t stay in one spot if they don’t want their Fear meter to fill up, which should encourage more aggressive play.
