Call of Duty Mobilehas proven to be an incredible success, with its multiplayer and battle royale offerings attracting thousands of players. Unfortunately, theCall of Duty Mobileversion of Zombies did not satisfy fans in the same way, though developer TiMi Studios may be taking another crack at the classic survival mode.

Shortly afterCall of Duty Mobilelaunched, a Zombies mode was added. While it had some interesting concepts like boss fights and objectives, as well as some classic maps to play on, the co-op mode never took off. In response,Zombies was surprisingly removedin March of last year, with TiMi Studios stating that the mode did not meet its standards when it came to quality. The studio did provide a bit of hope, however, suggesting that Zombies could return one day.

That day could be coming soon, as a newCall of Duty Mobilesurvey has hinted at the return of Zombies mode. The survey itself asks questions about what featuresCall of Duty Mobilefans want to see expanded upon, with one question hinting at the addition of Verdansk fromCall of Duty: Warzone. However, the survey question that Zombies fans have picked up on mentions the mode directly, asking if fans would like to see a “co-op Zombies Mode” make a comeback. With iconicZombies characters like Richtofenalready in the game, the mode’s return makes sense.

The question is captured by the leaker @ModernWarzone, and it suggests thatCall of Duty Mobile’s next take on Zombies would be more traditional. With the mode gaining its popularity from its round-based gameplay, which the question mentions, seeing it utilized in the Mobile variant would be a good way to ensure its success. That said,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’sZombies Outbreak modehas quickly been gaining in popularity, proving that objective-oriented gameplay can work well.

If a Zombies mode does return toCall of Duty Mobile, it will be interesting to see which maps are used. Early leaks of the game sawthe divisive map TranZitused, while Shi No Numa was playable insideCall of Duty MobileZombies during its brief availability. Shortly before its removal, the original Zombies map Nacht Der Untoten was set to make a debut, meaning that TiMi Studios likely has the assets ready to go. Still, with several maps to pick from, there is plenty that can be done with a Zombies mode insideCall of Duty Mobile.
