CoD: Modern Warfare 2Season 4 will be out on June 14, and it will offer six new multiplayer maps for players at launch, including Showdown, Kunstenaar District, Mercado, Penthouse, Mawizeh Marsh, and Ahkdar Village. Also, the announcement stated that a seventh map will be released during the mid-season. However, not much information about it was unveiled so far.

Each map will be hugely different from the other, with Showdown, for instance, being a reimagining of apopularCoD 4: Modern Warfaremapwith a heavy emphasis on urban environments, while the Mawizeh Marshlands, on the other hand, will offer a huge swamp and vehicular combat. Players who want a more contained, intense experience can visit the Penthouse, which is a small area that features a rooftop in Chicago with a pool, an outdoor fire pit, and small interiors. The Mercado, on the other hand, is a larger map that will allow players to face each other inside a covered structure with several levels and some verticality. Aside from the maps, the expansion will also give players access to four new armaments.

The competitive scene inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is pretty big, and the news about so many new maps coming up is not the only proof of that. Recently, Activision made thecheat provider Mobius shut down its activities. This was the largest cheat provider for the community, and the cease and desist letter was a very efficient method to put an end to the problem. So far, most of the anti-cheat updates were not enough to prevent players from breaking the rules, so the company decided to take real-world action to keep the game’s competitive scene clean.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
