In yet another example of that trend, Nvidia rolled out another Game Ready driver forModern Warfare 3some 48 hours ahead of the shooter’s campaign early access promotion. The new release, identified by version number 546.01, is available for all Nvidia GPUs adhering to theminimum system requirements forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. That includes graphics cards as old as those from the GeForce 900 series, such as the GTX 960, which hit the market back in 2015.

While the newly introduced drivers will ensure that all of the eligible Nvidia cards are ready to runModern Warfare 3, their biggest improvements are reserved for the company’s RTX series. For example, the drivers enable DLSS 3 in the latestCall of Dutygame, but the AI-powered frame generation solution requires a GPU from the RTX 40 lineup.Modern Warfare 3DLSS 2 support is also part of the package, available to all graphics cards from the RTX 20 series onwards. That particular technology leverages AI to upscale the game’s resolution, thus offering a similar level of graphical fidelity as the one achieved by native rendering, but with a smaller performance overhead.

Some of the improvements included in the latest Game Ready driver are also available across the board. One such universal feature is the support for theNvidia Reflex technologyinModern Warfare 3, which grants players access to a proprietary low-latency mode. That functionality should prove to be particularly valuable in competitive play, which starts on November 10, the day of the game’s full-fledged global release.

This development marks the launch of Nvidia’s second Game Ready driver forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The first such release rolled out on October 10, two days ahead of the start of the game’s now-concluded PC multiplayer beta. Nvidia labeled the previous driver as a continuation of its years-long technical partnership with Activision, all the while suggesting that the studio’s games continue to be a perfect showcase for its GPU technologies.
