Taking to theModern Warfare 3subReddit, a user named skipearth used their weapon scope to investigate magazines on a store rack while playing on theSeason 1 Reload map called Rio. To their surprise, the text on the magazine cover wasn’t just legible, it actually contained a message from one of the Call of Duty developers just in case a player stopped to investigate. As it turns out, the message reads: “Still reading text on a made-up magazine? Well then, how is your game going? You winning?”

The discovery quickly caught on with the community, with many loving the little detail from one of the developers. Some users in the comments also provided examples of other hidden messages in past games, such as the Convoy map in Black Ops 1, which displayed wanted posters of a kid for “pwning noobs.” Another user named Gundroog also praised the amount of care added to many of theModern Warfare 3maps such as Derailand the various stores that players could walk into and examine all of the fake products, decorations, and shelves stocked with products.

It seems players will have some new locations to explore this week asCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Ranked Play is set to receive two new mapson March 25. Known as Vista and Departures, players will be able to play them through Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy game modes. With Treyarch in charge of these additions, the studio is asking for player feedback after they’re added, hoping to verify if either map is ready to also make the jump to the Call of Duty League’s competitive pool as well.
