While the initial response toCall of Duty: Vanguardand its large lineup of content was positive, players have since been more critical of the game due to the usual issues. Alongside complaints about balancing and skill-based matchmaking, visibility has been a major problem thatCall of Duty: Vanguardplayers have had.

This was one of the criticisms inCall of Duty: Vanguard’s beta, though it has become significantly easier to see enemy players in the final version of the game. Other issues tied to visibility have come up, though, such as the Mortar Barrage killstreak. The streak in question sees the explosive payloads launching large piles of dirt and debris into the air, blocking sightlines completely. With the streak lasting several seconds, it can make seeing a nightmare on smaller maps, though there is another part of the game that is causing problems for some players.

TheCall of Duty: VanguardmapNuma Numa is not near the top of many lists, with most considering it to be an average-poor map. Circular in design, its layout leads to some severe spawn traps since players can be stuck inside the cave. However, alongside the crude trenches that make up the map, its yellowish color palette sets it apart - though that same hue is supposedly making it hard to see for some players. IchikoTatsumura started a thread complaining about the problem, with the fan getting a varied lineup of responses.

Some commenters, like MoosetashRide, say that that “can’t get a feel for the map” due to their inability to see. They cite headglitching players as part of the problem, though the bigger issue is the fact that they see everything as “50 shades of brown.” Another player, More_secret, blames the many sightlines of the map and its verticality for the issues they and their fellow players are having. WithCall of Duty: VanguardSeason 1likely bringing the in-game store alongside a battle pass, perhaps more colorful skins will come to make seeing easier.

However, while there are several players commenting that they hate Numa Numa, it is worth mentioning that not everyone takes issue with the map and its color pallet. In fact, NotLozerish claims it is their “favorite map,” while kohvis says that they “love it.” While a vast majority ofCall of Duty: Vanguardfansdo seem to dislike the playspace, those that like Numa Numa seem to really enjoy playing on it.

With player responses being varied as opposed to unanimous, Sledgehammer Games may leave the map as is. After all,Call of Duty: Vanguard’s bugsand other issues should take priority, with Numa Numa possibly worth revisiting down the road.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
