Cheats inCall of Duty: Warzonehave, unfortunately, not been solved by the battle royale’s recent Ricochet anti-cheat update. If anything, the current state ofCall of Duty: Warzonefeels like cheats are more of an issue than ever. Capturing the moment, a recently shared clip fromCall of Duty: Warzoneshows just how bad cheating has gotten. The clip shows a cheater flying what appears to be a Big Bertha truck.
The clip was shared by Reddit user JongStockton, taken from one of their recentCall of Duty: Warzonematches. In the clip, viewers can clearly see a Big Bertha truck flying through the air, first getting stuck on the edge of a roof as they try to run over one of JongStockton’s teammates. JongStockton then takes cover in a hangar and the Big Bertha flies around to attack him, too. The Big Bertha then gets stuck in the doorway, allowing JongStockton to blow up the vehicle and kill the cheater.

While the exact nature of the cheat isn’t clear, it appears to be a variation of a previous cheat that uses a flying vehicle as defense alongside anaimbotthat allows hackers to target and kill opponents with the vehicle. JongStockton’s teammate is shown being killed in this fashion to start the clip. Then, later, the cheater appears to get stuck in the hangar doorway, potentially due to the aimbot trying to push through to target JongStockton.
These types of hacks are not new inCall of Duty: Warzone, though there are certainly no clips showcasing exactly what JongStockton has encountered. FlyingBig Berthasare certainly a rarity. Previous flying vehicle hacks were likely dealt with at the time, and this is a new or recently released version of them. Odds are, it will be dealt with relatively quickly now that attention has been drawn to the issue.
What makes the situation so frustrating, however, is that the flying Big Bertha hack somehow got throughCall of Duty: Warzone’s anti-cheat at all. This is exactly the kind of thing that Ricochet was supposed to ensure never happened again, butRicochetappears to have a blind spot.
The appearance of new, egregious cheats inCall of Duty: Warzonemay be a symptom of a larger problem, similar to Caldera’s many glaring technical issues. TheQA team at Raven Softwareis currently on strike, and Activision continues to face employment issues and low morale due to its many controversies. The anti-cheat team may simply be overwhelmed and doing its best, though that doesn’t meanCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers will stick around in the meantime.
