Final Fantasy 7 Remakehas changed a lot about the story from the classic original that fans know and love. A lot has already been changed, such asZack Fair surviving inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which leads fans to speculate as to whether other big deaths will occur or if those characters will be spared as well, especially after the Whispers are seemingly destroyed towards the end of the game.

Luckily, Reddit user Yenriq posted an image to the game’s subreddit to help players discuss the timeline and their speculation. The timeline branches off to show the actions of the new Whispers and what deviations from destiny they helped prevent. The timeline helps show just how large of a role the Whispers have played in the story so far. However, this means that their death could lead to some massive changes to the game’s story and will havesprawling consequences onFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. Already it has been shown that their destruction has allows Biggs to survive the plate collapse while also allowing Zach Fair to survive and escort Cloud to Midgar.
The reaction to the visual timeline has been largely positive in the comments on the post. Many members of the community have expressed their thanks for the visual and say that it will help them better participate in discussions about what the changes inFinal Fantasy 7 Remakecould lead to as the remake progresses. However, many fans still havequestions regardingFinal Fantasy 7 Remake’s Whispersand how timelines will work in the game’s universe. The destruction of the Whispers near the end of Part 1 which has led many fans to speculate on whether or not that will change past events or split Part 2 into an entirely new timeline from the first game.
Of course, only time will tell what directionFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewill go in from here. Unfortunately, fans likely still have a decent amount of time to wait forFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, but until then there are a ton ofFinal Fantasygames currently in development.
