Summary
ADestiny 2player has managed to turn their Hunter into something that resembles Megamind from the popular DreamWorks movie. This was possible thanks toDestiny 2’s transmog systemwhich allows players unlock various armor pieces and turn them into cosmetic items.
The current Armor Synthesis system was launched withDestiny 2Season of the Splicer in 2021. While the community was happy that this feature was finally coming to the game, several fans felt that the grind to unlock their favorite armor pieces was tedious. Right now, players can acquire a maximum of 10 bounties per season from Ada-1 in the Tower, which gives players Synthweave that can be used to transmog one piece of armor. Players haveurged Bungie to increase the 10 Synthweave cap inDestiny 2, but the studio has yet to address it. Despite the limitation, players have managed to create some interesting looks, where this one fan has turned their Hunter into a popular DreamWorks character.

As posted on theDestinyFashion subreddit, user Whole_Place_4705 shared their creation with the community where their Hunter resembled the villain-turned-hero, Megamind. In the movie, Megamind has a giant blue head with a black cloak, which has been recreated in spectacular fashion to make it look quite similar to the original. To achieve this, they put on the Wing Contender helmet and used the Epipelagic shader inDestiny 2to get the blue head look. Other community members appreciated this look and also gave some suggestions to make the character look closer to the original.
Ever since the transmog system launched, players have been experimenting with different looks that resemble characters from other forms of media. For instance, a player managed to make their Hunter look like Jim Carrey from The Mask. Another player turned theirTitan inDestiny 2into Winnie the Pooh, while one fan also created a look based on Dark Souls.
Bungie is also reworking several Exotic armor pieces to improve their viability. Additionally, it is releasing anExotic mission rotator in the upcomingDestiny 2Season 22, and is making several quality of life updates as well. It also plans to reveal more about its upcoming The Final Shape DLC at its showcase scheduled for June 19, 2025.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
