ACyberpunk 2077fan has discovered that there is a secret legendary weapon in the game and given a brief overview of how they were able to find it. It’s not uncommon forvideo games to have hidden weaponsand items, such as the foam Hand Cannon fromDead Space 2or the Golden Gun fromGoldenEye 007. Sometimes these weapons will elude players, hidden away somewhere but still generally obtainable. In this instance, it sounds like the player has actually found something that’s impossible to get to without using exploits in CD Projekt Red’s open-world title.
Anyone who’s played the game knows thatCyberpunk 2077has a ton of weapons, some of which are quite unique. Even with a stealthy playthrough, it’s difficult to go through the entire story and side quests without resorting to a shootout. Luckily, there is a healthy arsenal to choose from, but it seems the developer either forgot to take one of the weapons out or decided not to add a way for players to get it.

As spotted by The Gamer, Reddit user OSHlN has uploaded an image from theirCyberpunk 2077playthrough which highlights a legendary pistol called Johnny’s Revolver. While tinkering with the “FreeFly (Noclip)” mod, the player was able to mess around in one of Johnny Silverhand’s cutscenes, enabling them to go back to Night City between Act 1 and Act 2 when they wouldn’t normally be able to. They then approached a vendor selling weapons and discovered the aforementioned legendary weapon. While it’s apparently possible to get the revolver using console commands, OSHlN believes this may be the first time the hidden gun has been found without commands.
Modding is very common inCyberpunk 2077, with plenty of dedicated people in the community tinkering with CDPR’s formula to enhance the experience. There are many ways to play around with the vanilla game, adding new content, tweaking the visuals, or in this case, making it so players can fly through the map and find hidden items.
WithCyberpunk 2077being updated on a regular basis, the sci-fi RPG has slowly been undoing the damage that was done when it first launched nearly two years ago. What started out as a broken product, with Sony removing it from the PlayStation storefront at the time, has now been given a lot of care and attention from CD Projekt Red. It’s in a much better state than it was at the end of 2020, and with exploits such as what OSHlN has shown, it will be interesting to see whether anyone else can find some secrets.
Cyberpunk 2077is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
