For some players, immersion is everything in games likeCyberpunk 2077, and for that reason, it can be extremely frustrating to walk around with weapons drawn, loaded, and ready to fire in the wrong situations (that is, unless thegame glitched and gave all NPCs guns). Thankfully, there is a way to holster one’s weapons, but the game doesn’t make it entirely clear on how to go about doing this.
InCyberpunk 2077, players will get into a fair share of trouble, but there will also be times when they’re engaging in more peaceful activities, potentially even legal ones. There’s no need to walk into a clothing store with pistols drawn, for example, so holstering weapons is an important skill to have.

Aside from immersion, there are some other reasons players may want to holster their weapons. For one, NPCs around the player will get more nervous if players are running around with weapons drawn, and they may even shout about it. Weapons also take up quite a bit of screen space, so those wanting tosee more of Night Citywill also want to holster their weapons.
There are two main ways to do this. The first way to holster weapons inCyberpunk 2077involves the game’s weapon wheel. Players can open the weapon wheel by holding Alt on PC, triangle on PS4, and Y on PS5. Aside from changing weapons, players can also select the red gun icon in order to holster whatever weapons they happen to have drawn at the time. Again, this will help to provide a muchfriendlier and more approachable appearance for Vas players explore Night City.
Alternatively, players can also double tap the button mentioned above in order to holster their weapon without entering the weapons wheel. This is obviously the quicker of the two methods, though other than that it doesn’t make much of a difference. This should work with any type of weapon and will allow the player to move around without as much apprehension from theother residents of Night City. As far as anyone knows, these are the only two ways to holster weapons.
Whether doing it to add heightened immersion, because of the annoyance of NPCs slinging insults at the player just for walking around with a shotgun out, or to free up screen space, players will find themselves holstering their weapons frequently. With that in mind, it’s odd thatCD Projekt Red didn’t take more timeto explain to players how to do this simple action.
Cyberpunk 2077is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
