Daredevilfans have had quite the week after a series of announcements culminated in confirmation of theMCUseries title that will mark the superhero’s return in Spring 2024, whenDaredevil: Born Againfinally lands on Disney Plus.

Prior to this, San Diego Comic-Con had already served some good news for fans of the character after it was revealed thatDaredevilwould also show up in the animated seriesSpider-Man: Freshman Year, where Charlie Cox will voiceMatt Murdock. Cox was officially cast for the role when his character appeared in legal counsel capacity for Peter Parker inSpider-Man: No Way Home; while his nemesis, Kingpin, was brought inHawkeyewith Vincent D’Onofrio returning with a slightly renewed sense of style.

Now, it looks like Cox and D’Onofrio will be making up for lost time since one of the biggest takeaways from the Marvel panel at SDCC 2022 is the fact that the series will be 18 episodes long, three times more than the usual duration of current MCU shows on Disney Plus. Besides that, the logo was unveiled with a drastically different art style and font than whatDaredevilhad back in his Netflix days, but no other details were shared, meaning fans will have to wait for a definitive release date.

However, anyone wanting to see how the MCU tacklesDaredevilwill getan early sneak peek at Cox inShe-Hulk, due to him briefly appearing towards the end of the upcoming series’ trailer in full superhero form, sporting a new Daredevil costume. Overall, this leavesDaredevil, and Cox especially, as one of the biggest winners from Marvel Studios’ camp after this Comic-Con with at least 3 fully confirmed MCU credits coming over the next couple of years.

In the grand scheme of things,Daredevilwill be part of the MCU”s Phase Five as Phase Four is now planned to end with the release ofBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverlater this year, and the long-plannedAnt-Man 3. Among the topics that were not addressed during the panel, but that will be on fans’ minds was the matter of which other cast members from the Netflix era will return alongside the show’s stars, or how Disney’s Marvel will adapt its R-rated origins.

As expected, beyond new titles forAvengers: The Kang DinastyandAvengers: Secret Wars, this year’s Comic-Con has been far from Marvel only, seeing that overon DC’s campShazam! Fury of The Godsgot its first trailer, as well as some extra previews forLord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
