Mikaela Reid’s Backstory
Mikaela is anoriginalDead by Daylightcharacter, and as such, players don’t have any source material in the way of TV shows or movies to watch ahead of her introduction. However, she does have a fairly in-depth backstory detailing her life and her journey into the world of witchcraft. Mikaela’s father, with who she seemed to have a very good relationship, passed away when she was 16, leaving her in a bit of a slump. However, Mikaela’s friends rallied around her, and she discovered a new passion for storytelling, with a particular love for horror stories. This may have been combined with her father’s passing to set her down a path to witchcraft.
Eventually, Mikaela was invited to participate in a Halloween festival by telling one of her stories, which she began spending long nights preparing for. But it is here that fans may begin to notice the crossover emerging. While writing her story, Mikaela has nightmares that are reminiscent ofDead by Daylight, in which she has a hook thrust through her chest. Halloween was approaching, and the more Mikaela wrote, the worse her dreams became. At the festival, Mikaela eventually tells her story, with a thick fog gathering and hiding her from the audience. Mikaela disappears in the fog, and it is here that her appearance inDead by Daylightbegins. As a young witch with a knack for stoytelling and useful spells,Dead by Daylight’sMikaela Reidcould prove very popular.
