Destiny 2’sseason 17, or Season of the Haunted, has players leveling a rather haunting and nightmarish artifact thanks to Eris Morn’s help. This time, many of the mods are designed around Solar 3.0, which is the latest subclass Bungie has given the Stasis fragment and aspect treatment to.

While the season is still in its early stage, there are a number of interesting mods that already stand out among the rest. These mods will serve to enhance any Solar builds players plan on making, and will no doubt be of help in at least mid-difficulty PVE activities. Here’s which artifact mods are the best inDestiny 2’sseason 17.

One of the biggest disappointments regarding season 17’s artifact mods was the fact that Overload Champions will still have the same first column stun mod as last season, which is Overload Auto Rifles and SMGs. These were somewhat inconsistent last season, hence why many players disliked the mod.

Luckily, the other option isn’t all too bad, given that there are now two Legendarytrace rifle optionsfor players to enjoy. The Overload Trace Rifle on paper could potentially be the better mod to slap on for those pesky Lost Sectors and even for some GMs, as they tend to provide more consistent and accurate damage without bullet spread.

Shotgun Dexterity

For passionate PVP players, this mod is a must-have. Shotgun gameplay is still very viable in PVP and continues to be a favorite for many veteran Destiny players. As such, having this artifact mod that costs only one energy is a huge deal.

Shotguns have also been used in PVE as of late, especiallyin the new Duality dungeon, where most boss fights take place in the player’s face. However, for those hitting up Trials of Osiris and the new Iron Banner this season, this mod will have the most appeal.

Pulse Rifle Targeting

Another love letter for PVP players, this is a go-to for any player who prefers pulse rifles in PVP over the classic shotgun and hand cannon meta. This targeting mod is much cheaper and will make hitting targets in the Crucible significantly easier.

While it can be a nice extra PVE mod if players have nothing else to put on, this mod will most likely see the majority ofits use in PVP lobbies, including Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner.

Armor Of The Dying Star

Last season Bungie introduced a very cool armor mod for both Arc and Solar resistance. This season, the exact same mod but with Solar and Void instead, has been added to the Artifact. It’s hard to go wrong with a mod like this, especially when it comes to the PVE side of things.

Players can easily put on a double of these mods on their chest piece, and be perfectly protected going forward into end-game activities that have Solar and Void burns. It’s a fantastic mod that hopefully, Bungie will keep bringing around and rotating as the seasons go.

Classy Restoration

Now, on to the juicy PVE bits that will define the general meta of this season. First up is Classy Restoration, which promises a ton of sustain for players when they use their class abilities in an activity. Doing so will trigger restoration, which heals them over time.

Given that many ofDestiny 2’snewest activities have quite a high enemy density, sustain mods like these will likely become a nice, staple additionto any PVE build. Pair this up with other mods that quickly charge up class abilities, and the player will become essentially an unkillable tank.

Solar Fulmination

Scorch and ignition are this season’s big buzzwords for Solar 3.0, so any mods that deal with those features are always welcome to a build. The Solar Fulmination mod will significantly buff the effectiveness of any ignition effects from abilities and fragments.

Not only will ignitions now do more damage, but they also have a greater radius. Ignitions are basically explosions, somewhat similar to Volatile from last season with Void 3.0, so it will be interesting to see how well this mod actually plays out in PVE.

Radiant Orbs

For those who dearly missedthe Orbs of Powermods and builds from season 15, there’s some good news on the horizon thanks to the Radiant Orbs mod. This mod alone might just make it worth creating Orbs of Power again using mods like Harmonic and Kinetic Siphon.

With this mod, when players pick up Orbs of Power, they will become Radiant. The Radiant buff increases the amount of damage players can do by 25% in PVE, and 10% in PVP. This is significant, especially if stacked with other damage boosts or the enemy if debuffed.

Rays Of Precision

Back to ignition. This mod is no doubt the most interesting one this season, because of what it can do when combined with some of the earlier mods mentioned and the new Solar 3.0 aspects and fragments.

With this mod, whenever players have the Radiant damage buff, their Solar weapon final blows will ignite targets. Now, pair this up with Solar Fulmination, which buffs the damage and radius of ignitions, and let the chaos commence. These two mods, and being able to pick up Orbs of Power to become radiant, will be extremely powerful in PVE.
