However, not all the new features were implemented flawlessly, which may mean that the game has some maintenance in the future. According to a recent social media post, theDestiny 2team is already planning a hotfix for a recent issue found in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon.
Grasp of Avarice is a dungeon introduced toDestiny 2alongside the game’sBungie 30th Anniversary update. Not only does the game offer players a variety of cool loot items, but it also delves into some of the history of theDestinyfranchise–namely, the once-famous loot caves. The loot caves were themselves nerfed by a hotfix back in 2014, so perhaps it’s fitting that the Grasp of Avarice is also getting one.

Dylan Gafner, the Senior Community Manager at Bungie, recently took to Twitter to assure fans that the issue with the Grasp of Avarice would be addressed soon. Apparently, the bug in question prevents therewards found in the Grasp of Avarice dungeonfrom being looted more than once per character, per reset. Gafner stated in his tweet that a hotfix was being planned for next week.
According to Gafner, this hotfix will ensure that players can earn rewards upon each successful encounter completion in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. The fix will apply no matter how many times the dungeon has been played in a given week. This isn’t the first timeDestiny 2has implemented an emergency bug fix, but it may be one of the most timely.
As of writing, it appears that fans are having mixed reactions, both to the issue with the Grasp of Avarice dungeon and to the Bungie 30th Anniervsary update as a whole. Several users have commented with concerns regarding how much new content was added to celebrate the anniversary, with one user criticizing the errors and accusing Bungie of creating shameful work. However, other users stated that waiting one week for a hotfix is far from the worst thing they’ve done to enjoy aDestiny 2dungeon. Some users also drew a parallel toSkyrim, which reportedly added far more content to the game to celebrate its anniversary, while others seem to be more interested in the real-life NerfGjallarhornblaster being apparently sold out.
Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
