Summary
Bungie has disabled the newly launched Weavewalk Warlock Strand Aspect inDestiny 2. This Aspect was released with theDestiny 2Season of the Witch, along with new Strand Aspects for Hunters and Titans.
Bungie has had a history of unintentionally adding game-breaking items and abilities toDestiny 2. For instance, when Lightfall launched, theWinterbite Exotic Glaive inDestiny 2was dealing ungodly amounts of damageto bosses and had to be disabled. Even the Jotunn Exotic Fusion rifle was disabled in Crucible playlists as it ended up giving players more Special Ammo than intended. Now, Bungie has decided to do the same with the new Warlock Aspect, which appears to be broken.

This suspension of the new Weavewalk Aspect was announced via the official Bungie Help Twitter account. For the uninitiated, the Weavewalk Strand Aspect inDestiny 2allows Warlocks to temporarily enter the weave, where the player becomes a walking Strand ghost whose animation looks similar to the Nova Warp Super ability. In that state, players are highly resistant to incoming damage and passively gather up to 5 perched Threadlings on them, that can be instantly deployed once the Weavewalk ends. However, fans have reported that the damage resistance of the Aspect in PvP activities is a little too much, where players can be seen emptying entire magazines on a Weavewalking Warlock only to deal mediocre damage.
This suspension comes at a time when the Crota’s End raid is set to launch in less than a week on September 1. It could be possible that the Weavewalk Aspect won’t be available in the upcoming raid as the team might not have enough time to rework it. Interestingly, Bungie had alsodisabled a Warlock Exotic beforeDestiny 2’s Root of Nightmaresraid launched.
Bungie showcased what players can expect from the upcomingDestiny 2The Final Shape DLC, during a recent showcase. The event confirmed that players will be venturing inside The Traveler to put an end to The Witness’s schemes, and also revealed what the future of the game will look like after the expansion. In addition to this, it also announced three new Light Supers for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans, along with a new enemy type called Subjugators. There have been rumors of a new Darkness subclass arriving with The Final Shape, but there wasn’t any indication of that during the showcase.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
