Quite a fewDiablo 4players are currently complaining about the dungeon design in the latest game released by Blizzard. Despite the major fan approval that the title has with its new game-as-a-service formula,Diablo 4’s open world received a mixed reaction, and there are some gamers who are not satisfied with the current design, affirming that the dungeons often feel shallow and lazy.

Diablo 4is undeniably one of the most successful releases of 2023, selling millions of units around the world and becoming Blizzard’s fastest-selling title ever, all while it still managed to get rave reviews from most gaming critics. The game was so successful and had such an eager fanbase thataDiablo 4player reached level 100before the official game release, playing for over 50 hours in the span of a few days, which is quite impressive.

There are some fans, however, who are not entirely sold on all aspects ofDiablo 4yet. For instance, Nero_Prototype recently posted on social media complaining that all dungeons felt the same and were too restrictive in many ways. According to them, allDiablo 4dungeonsjust require the players to find two to four things in them to open every door, and they are small and uninteresting in many ways. Despite that, Nero_Prototype affirmed that they still love the game, it was just disappointing to see how the developers failed to implement better design, such as more interesting quests or better concepts for dungeons, despite having so many of them.

Complaints such as this one are not very hard to find on social media right now. Altnob, for instance, had similar criticisms aboutDiablo 4. They were pretty bummed out that the game was released with 125 dungeons and not a single one of them was really sprawling and large such as the dungeons in the first titles of the series. Altnob, just like the other poster, also complained that every single dungeon has simple mechanics such as locked doors which are not engaging at all.

Fortunately, there’s still a chance that updates will improve the game in this aspect. Blizzard recently revealed information aboutupcomingDiablo 4expansions, affirming that the game would have plenty of post-launch content, including at least two major expansions and new seasons filled with activities. So, there is still hope that the expansions will add a huge, interesting dungeon or two to the title, which is something that most old-schoolDiablofans would probably approve.

Diablo 4is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
