This information was shared in the Japanese magazine V-Jump, with translated scans of the pages being shared by Ryuujtik and ShonenGameZ on Twitter. Like the previous scans and pre-release material released for the game, the characters revealed were based on a theme, with this one being “New Generation Saiyans.” This theme refers to the kid versions of Goten and Kid Trunks, along with the new female Saiyans fromDragon Ball Super, Kale and Caulifla. The scans also reveal theSuper Saiyan transformationsand signature moves that the characters can use.

New Characters Confirmed for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

The scans also confirm that theFusion characters inSparking Zeroare not only playable characters, but are a mechanic. In pastBudokai Tenkaichigames, fusions were a dedicated gameplay feature that could be done by having the two constituent characters on a team, then executing a command to fuse them.Sparking Zeroretains both of these features, sporting a 5v5 team mode that players can engage in. The scans also confirm that Super Saiyan Gotenks and Super Saiyan 2 Kefla will be in the game’s roster.

While Kale was already confirmed to be a part ofSparking Zero’s roster, it only showed herBerserk Legendary Super Saiyan form. These scans ofSparking Zeroalso detail how each character is categorized, such as Goten being best for close combat encounters with his Rush techniques, while Kid Trunks is best at long-range fighting with his ki attacks. Kale specializes in long-range attacks with her Super Saiyan transformations increasing both her attack and defense, while Caulifla’s Super Saiyan form increases her offensive abilities.
