Dragon’s Dogmafans were hoping the game would receive FPS Boost support on Xbox Series X|S to enhance the game’s overall performance to 60 frames-per-second. However, Xbox Director of Project Management Jason Ronald confirmedDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisenwould not support it. There were “unfortunate side effects” in the game when working with the FPS Boost feature, according to Ronald. As a result,Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisendid not qualify for the FPS Boost program and will not receive the feature.

The FPS Boost program wrapped up with one last round of games on August 05, 2025. At the time, Ronald stated there were no further plans to make more games compatible with FPS Boost on Xbox Series X|S. PC gamers may try out theSteam version ofDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, offering 60 frames-per-second with compatible hardware. The Steam version is also on sale for $4.79 until Thursday, June 23.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisencould have taken advantage of the high performance capabilities found on Xbox Series X|S. It appears unforeseen issues arose during testing, which were out of Xbox’s control. Capcom’s new development efforts involve the RE Engine in many upcoming games such as theResident Evil 4remake,Street Fighter 6, andExoprimal. It’s unlikely Capcom would revisit the original title to enhance it for Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Fortunately, the Steam version is present for those wanting a smooth action-RPG experience and higher frame rate. The player count ofDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisenis surging on Steam, welcoming others to share in theexcitement ofDragon’s Dogma 2with customer reviews.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisenis available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
