Elden Ringhas impressed gaming fans all over the world since it first launched and, in the weeks following, it became one of the best reviewed games of all time. One element that stuck out to many players wereElden Ring’sbosses. From Margrit to Melania, there are plenty of unique and interesting foes for players to spend hours trying to defeat, and a lot ofElden Ringfans have picked their favorite bossalready, as shown by a recently released survey.
However, someone who has stayed quiet about their favorite boss in the game isDark Soulscreator andElden RingDirector Hidetaka Miyazaki. The developer is often associated with the Soulsborne series, as he is known to have a clear influence over the direction, lore, and stories of the games. Previously,Miyazaki revealed his favorite FromSoftware boss, but this was before the release ofElden Ring, meaning that he couldn’t comment on the bosses of that game.

Now, Miyazaki’s silence on theElden Ringbosses has come to an end, and he has named Radahn his favorite boss in the game.General Radahn is one of the most influential bosses inElden Ring, as his defeat at the hands of the player will unlock a few new areas to discover and paths for them to take. Miyazaki stated in a recent interview that Radahn is his favorite because the general of the Red Lion army “is fascinating as a character, and I also like the circumstances of the Radahn Festival.”
The Radahn Festival is seen as crucial in the fight against Radahn, as it can allow anElden Ringplayer to summon helpful NPCs to their side during the battle itself. Miyazaki doesn’t just have a fondness for the gravity-manipulating General, though. The game developer stated that his second favorite boss is Godrick, followed by the Lord of Blasphemy Rykard. In the same interview, theDark Soulscreator also commented that he is somewhat surprised byElden Ring’ssuccess, but is overall happy with it.
Finally, Miyazaki revealed what future FromSoftware titles may look like. Apparently, FromSoftware won’t be changing its approach to game production anytime soon, as the company will continue to make games that the team believes are interesting. This may be disappointing news to fans hoping for a game withlower difficulty in the Soulsborne series. However, for those who have followed the franchise sinceDemon’s Souls, it will be reassuring to hear that things aren’t going to change.
Elden Ringis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
