Elden Ringfeatures dozens of challenging bosses for players to tackle. It probably has more bosses than all other FromSoftware games, even after excluding duplicate encounters against the same enemy. Many users think thatElden Ringhassome of the toughest bosses in the Soulslike genre, although they are mostly limited to the game’s optional areas.
AsElden Ringhas been out for a few months, many players have likely finished it and formed an opinion on its various aspects. So, now is probably a great time for players to have a meaningful discussion on their least favorite bosses in the game.

A Reddit user named Ender_Serpent made a post encouragingElden Ringfans to talk about the bosses they disliked the most. Ender_Serpent didn’t mention any specific criteria and left it open for users to name any boss of their choice. The post has almost 4,000 comments, with several players chiming in to share theirfrustrations withElden Ring’s bosses. The result is a varied collection of opinions with some surprising names being mentioned.
Many players claim thatthe terrifying Death Rite Birdsare their least favorite bosses inElden Ring, with several also mentioning the fight against the two Valiant Gargoyles. Crystalians are named a few times along with Erdtree Burial Watchdogs, probably because these two boss types can come in groups. Some players have also given unique reasons for hating a fight, such as finding the boss too easy. Curiously, almost every post features a comment from different users sharing strategies for beating the boss in question.
One user states that they hated some regular enemies more than a single boss, and the other comments seem to support this argument. Many players have actually named mini-bosses in their post instead of a main story encounter like Godskin Duo or Radahn. Even Malenia, probablythe most difficult boss inElden Ring, is not mentioned that much.
Since its release in February, Elden Ringfans have made various tier lists of the game’s boss fights. Some rankings are based on the difficulty of the battle, while others rate them on how much they enjoyed each encounter. As an example, anElden Ringplayer made a tier listafter beating the game 15 times and named Maliketh as their favorite boss in the game. Godfrey, Mohg, Radahn, and Dragonlord Placidusax join him at the top of this list, with Malenia listed a tier below.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
