AnElden Ringmod has added several pieces ofOld School RuneScapeweapons and armor to the game. The mod forElden Ringblurs the line between FromSoftware’s RPG and Jagex’s never-ending MMORPG.

TheElden Ringmodding community isn’t as large as many other RPGs out there, despite the game’s widespread popularity. The game is still relatively new, so there is still time for it to pick up in the future. However, it does mean that many of the mods out there are incredible, as they’re only created by the most hardcoreElden Ringfans. One ambitiousmod forElden Ringeven adds Pokemonto the game, allowing players to summon Pokemon to help withElden Ring’s difficult combat. It remains to be seen just how ambitious theElden Ringmodding community will be able to get with the title going forward, but the early signs are positive.

The mod was uploaded to Nexus Mods by user Lordcobra12, and adds several iconic pieces ofRuneScapearmor to the game. It adds a full Bandos set, an Abyssal Tentacle, Dragon Claws and Boots, and a Fire Cape, among other smaller items. Adding the items comes at a cost however, as it replaces some of thebase game armor inElden Ring. For example, the Bandos set replaces the Night’s Cavalry Set, and the Abyssal Tentacle replaces the Thorned Whip. For fans ofRuneScape, the trade-off may prove to be worth it.

The mod is clearly very incompatible withElden Ring’s deep lore, though many players won’t mind. If players ofElden Ringcan accept Thomas the Tank Enginebeing added to the game, it’s unlikely that the line will be drawn atRuneScape. Interestingly, the models don’t appear to have been directly ported from RuneScape, and instead have been recreated by the mod author to fit in more withElden Ring’s aesthetic. Interestingly, on the Nexus Mods page, the mod author claims to be planning to portSkyrimarmor sets toElden Ringin the future, so there’s more to come from Lordcobra12.

Elden Ringwas a hit upon its release, smashing sales records for FromSoftware’s previous titles. The success of the game has seen the confirmation of thefirst expansion forElden Ringtitled “Shadow of the Erdtree.“While no date has been given for the expansion, hopefully players don’t have to wait too long to get their hands on FromSoftware’s latest batch of content. With most of FromSoftware occupied with the upcomingArmored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, it’s unknown when players can expect to hear about a potential sequel toElden Ring, or another Soulslike title.
