Escape From Tarkovis a notoriously difficult extraction shooter for a number of reasons. In addition to difficult inventory management and the loss of all items upon death, it can be hard to navigate many of the maps themselves and find the points from which to extract and return safely with all gear intact. The game does not provide players with any maps by default. Instead, they can be discovered as in-game loot items should players manage to come across them. Generally, it is useful tolearn a few Extraction Pointsand some nearby landmarks to help identify them more quickly.
TheStreets of Tarkovmap is one of the most popular due to its dense urban environment, which is home to plenty of valuable items as well as ambush spots and chokepoints to trap enemies in. Like most other maps, Extraction Points will vary depending on whether the player is entering the raid as a Scav or PMC. PMCs generally have more extraction options, though not all Extraction Points will be available at all times, and some may require you to obtain certain items before they are activated.
Crash Site (PMC)
Easily Identifiable Exit In The Condordia Apartment Square
Located in the far southwest corner of the map, the Crash Site is a well concealed and relatively quiet extraction zone, though the area is occasionally populated with wandering Scavs. The closest visible landmark is the Concordia building, though the site itself is marked by the downed helicopter which sits in the triangular-shaped tenement block.
This area is generally quite safe to access, though the presence of Scavs is heightened in the surrounding areas. Players should also beware when crossing through the minefield that surrounds the Lexos car dealership on Chekkanaya Street.
Entrance To Catacombs (Scav)
PMC Extract In The East Near Sewer River
The Entrance To Catacombs extraction point, sometimes referred to as Basement Entrance, is a discreet location hidden in a building just behind the Sewer River PMC extraction point. This may, at first, seem like a possible issue, due to other players rushing to the other Extraction Point nearby. However, the area provides plenty of cover, with the Entrance To The Catacombs only being accessible via one, easily defended door.
This can be a great choice for Scavs spawning in thesouthern half of the map, particularly from around Concordia. It will give players a nice route with plenty of buildings and vehicles to search, as well as lots of places to either escape or shoot from if enemies are encountered.
Collapsed Crane (PMC)
Easy-To-Find Extraction Point From Most Places On The Map
Like manypost-soviet and collectivist cities, Tarkov is home to many partially-constructed developments, including residential, commercial, and sporting complexes. The Collapsed Crane is one of the easier Extraction Points to locate, since it lies at the base of another crane that is still standing. This can be seen from far away particularly in the southern area of the map, and from Primorsky Avenue, which runs through the center of the map past the Theater and Pinewood Hotel.
The Extraction Point itself is located on a construction site at the end of Chekannaya Street, where the Tarbank and Lexos car dealership is located. This area is treacherous due to the high presence of Scavs around the dealership, as well as the minefield surrounding it. Players can also approach from the North down Zmeisky Alley, which is significantly safer.
Courtyard (PMC)
Discreet Exit Next To the Cinema
One of the more discreet Extraction Points, and conveniently located just next to the noticeable landmark of the Cinema, is the Courtyard. Tucked away in the southeast corner of the map, this location can be found by following Primorsky Avenue to the South (towards the church spire which lies beyond the map) until the Cinema and its grand entrance are in view. Standing at the doors of the theater looking out the city, the Courtyard road is on the left, which is the southern side.
Following this road back past the side of the theater, an archway will be visible. Inside here, the Courtyard Extraction Point can be located. This is a very convenient location when open, since the Cinema building is home to plenty ofvaluable loot items.
Damaged House (PMC)
Relatively Central Exit Point Close to Theater and Cinema
This is another useful Scav exit located close to the Cinema complex. It’s tucked away at the far eastern end of Verhnyaya Street, which runs alongside the Cinema on the north side, near to the Church spire in the distance. Upon seeing the partially crumbled house, players will need to find their way into a safehouse just inside the ruin. Beware that the pathway leading to its entrance can be treacherous as the rubble is quite exposed.
This Extraction Point can also be approached from the north side via Malevicha Street, which leads from the Sewer River entrance down to the Cinema complex. This can be useful if the Sewer River or Courtyard exits are contested.
Klimov Shopping Mall Exfil (Scav)
Useful Scav Exit With Loot Items Nearby
Located on the second floor of this mini-mall, the Extraction Point is hidden in a stairwell next to the “Burger Slot” fast food restaurant. The area is a convenient extraction location as it allows players toquickly raid the mall, where cash registers and other items can be looted, before leaving.
This area operates as a spawn point occasionally for PMCs and Scavs, though they won’t be able to extract from this location if they deploy nearby. The destroyed windows also offer views into the mall from snipers, so it is wise to avoid them where possible.
Near Kamchatskaya Arch (Scav)
Well-Hidden Extraction Site On The Western Side Of The Map
The Extration Point Near Kamchatskaya Arch is perhaps better referred to as the Museum extraction. In order to locate it, players will have to pass through the museum building on Kamchatskaya Street on the western side of the map. Landmarks to look for nearby include the glass Expo center, as well as theSoviet mural depicting a cheering soldieron one of the walls near the School building.
Upon passing through the Museum, players will find a small courtyard which marks the Extraction Point. It can be worth investigating the museum building for some last-minute loot, as there are several bags and lockers for players to delve into.
Klimov Street (PMC)
Exposed But Easy-To-Locate Extraction; Requires Flares To Activate
The Klimov Street extract is one of the most difficult to attempt, since certain requirements must be met in order to activate it. Players must first obtain a flare gun and a green flare, which can be found as random loot items throughout the game.
The flare must be shot directly upwards, and players will be notified when it is ready to extract. Failing to meet these requirements, or attempting to use this site without a green flare, will result in the player being sniped and killed, losing all progress for that raid.
Primorsky Ave Taxi (PMC)
Another Extraction Point with some special requirements is the Primorsky Avenue Taxi exit. The taxi will not always be available, and will require players to pay 5,000 RUB in order tosuccessfully activate extraction. The location is identifiable by the large Cinema complex, and Primorsky Avenue is the main road running along the front of it and through the center of the map.
Players can also get a bonus payment for completing the mission “Burning Rubber” from the trader known as Skier. This mission simply requires players to use this Extraction Point, and will reward them with several items and bonuses.
Sewer River (Scav)
Underground Extraction Point Marked By a Crashed Blue Bus
Sewer River is one of the easier Extraction Points to locate, due to the large blue bus which lies crashed and partially submerged in the sewer tunnel. This can be found at the far end of Nikitskaya Street, which can be noted by the presence of the Theater building (not to be confused with the larger Cinema) and the Sparja Express grocery store opposite. Players can also approach from the side of the Cinema by heading north up Malevicha Street, which is aslightly less traveled route.
Upon arriving in the area, players must make their way down the tunnel and towards the far gate marking the start of the sewers. From here, simply wait by the rusty gate for extraction, provided that you are playing as a PMC and that the Sewer River is active as an Extraction Point.
