Minecraft’s The Wild Update is finally out, and with it comes numerous additions that will change the way fans play. The Wild Update introduces multiple new mobs, biomes, blocks, items, and features that were revealed atMinecraftLive 2021, Mojang’s annual event that also features a player-driven mob vote. With theMinecraftVersion 1.19 now available, fans will be spending tons of time finding and using all the new additions.
The biggest addition to The Wild Update is arguably The Deep Dark cave biome, which was initially set to release alongside the Caves and Cliffs update before it was delayed. Along with this is another new biome, mangrove swamps, which will be the only place where players can find new mobs like frogs. These two biomes will give players a new experience in theirMinecraftworlds, and The Wild Update is set to giveMinecraft a lot of new horror elementsthat make mining a more cautious affair.

The Deep Dark Biome
The newest cave biome added toMinecraftis the Deep Dark, which is covered in dark blocks known as sculk and protected byMinecraft’stoughest and most complex mob to date: The Warden. The Deep Dark also houses Ancient Cities, which are one of the largest structures to generate inMinecraftyet, giving players a lot of useful loot. However, fans will need to stay alert as anysounds could spawn in The Warden, which is nearly impossible to kill and capable of dealing around 15 hearts of damage while negating armor or shields.
The Deep Dark also introduces variants of the sculk block that have different effects. Sculk sensors will send a signal to nearby blocks every time a sound is made nearby, making it useful for Redstone projects. Another variant of sculk is the Sculk Shrieker, which will activate the darkness effect and can summon a Warden. Finally, the Sculk Catalyst will absorb experience points dropped when a mob is killed and use it to convert nearby blocks into more sculk.
The Mangrove Swamp
The other biome added intoMinecraft1.19 is mangrove swamps, which house new types of tree and blocks, as well as a new mob. The mangrove tree is the only one that must be planted inside a water source block to grow, and has a unique design. The frog was also introduced in this update, giving players the chance to breed and use these mobs to acquire froglight: a new block that emits fifteen light levels. Finally, mangrove swamps include the new mud block, which can also be made by combining a water bottle with dirt.
The mud block is one of the most useful additions to the update, with multiple variants that can be used in building and converted into clay, effectivelymaking clay a renewable block inMinecraft. This feature will likely lead to new farm designs that allow fans to quickly gain a lot of clay without having to explore the world.

The Allay and Other Notable Additions
The Allay was the winner of 2021’s mob vote, and is the newest passive mob that will help players by picking up items on the ground. This new feature makes the Allay perfect for players building large farms, as the Allay can pick up all items that the player did not and drop them off near a note block. The Allay can be given an item, and will only pick up that particular type of item for the player until it’s retrieved again. They can be found in cages around Pillager Outposts or inside Woodland Mansions.
There are numerous smaller additions too, like the new boat with chests that add an inventory to boats so players can explore without having to worry about filling up, as well as anew armor enchantment called Swift Sneak. Swift Sneak will improve the speed at which players move when sneaking, making it particularly useful for exploring the Deep Dark.
Also added to the game is a music disc that can be acquired by combining disc fragmentsfound in Ancient Cities. The update includes goat horns that will drop whenever a goat rams into a hard block, with there being several types that each will emit a different sound. Finally, the update also introduced 3D Directional Audio simulation, giving fans better audio quality that may be useful while exploring.
All the new additions in The Wild Update will encourage fans to explore their worlds once more in search of biomes, mobs, and blocks. The update has also made several bug fixes and changes to features such as water logging leaves, the new recovery compass, and multiple new advancements. With The Wild Update now available,Minecraft’s already massive world has gotten a little bigger, and a lot darker.
