YouTube channel TeaserPlay, that specializes in making Unreal Engine 5 concept videos, releases a new video that showcases a hypothetical character switching mechanic in Insomniac’sSpider-Man 2video game.Spider-Man 2was announced by PlayStation last year with an impressive CG trailer that confirmed the return of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, while also teasing the debut of iconic Spider-Man villain Venom.

SinceSpider-Man 2’s reveal trailer, Insomniac has been mostly quiet about the new game and what it will entail. There are rumors that a bigSpider-Man 2reveal could be happening sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, YouTube channel TeaserPlay has created an impressive Unreal Engine 5 concept video showcasing how aGrand Theft Auto 5-inspired character switching mechanic might look in the game.

WithSpider-Man 2featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, there have been theories that the game could feature aGTA-style character switching mechanic, with players able to swap between different characters at will. This has not been confirmed by Insomniac Games, but it seems like an interesting solution for the studio to feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the new game. TeaserPlay’s version adds Venom to the mix, and it’s interesting to see it in action.

Again, it should be stressed that Insomniac has not revealed much at all aboutSpider-Man 2at the time of this writing, so this video is based purely on speculation. However, it does seem like it would be a solid way to give Peter Parker and Miles Morales equal importance in the game. The other solution would be forSpider-Man 2to be co-op, though it’s unclear if Insomniac will go that route or keep the game as a strictly single-player experience.

Venom being a third playable characteris an interesting possibility to consider as well. The assumption has been that Venom will be one of the main antagonists inSpider-Man 2, but since the character is presented as more of an anti-hero than pure villain nowadays, it may make more sense for him to fill a similar role in the new game. Venom would essentially fill the Trevor slot when it comes toSpider-Man 2’s playable characters. When video shows the player switching to Venom, he’s find rummaging through garbage, quite the contrast to Peter Parker and Miles Morales hanging out on New York City rooftops.

Hopefully therumors of a newSpider-Man 2revealhappening soon are true so fans can get more official information on what the game has in store when it launches next year.
