EA confirmed thatFIFA 23officially comes out on September 30, with theUltimate Editionlaunching three days early on September 27. The reveal trailer ofFIFA 23mostly consisted of players showing off their impressive dribbling skills. It puts a big emphasis on the upgraded HyperMotion2 technology and the quality of animations. The video also featured an updated free-kick UI before confirming a World Cup mode that will coincide with the FIFA World Cup tournament scheduled to take place later this year. An EA tweet mentions thatFIFA 23will include both men’s and women’s FIFA World Cups.
The video heavily focuses on the most popular players from the biggest clubs in the world including Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. However, the cover stars and players from their respective clubs were more prominently featured than others. EA had previously unveiledFIFA 23’s cover athletes, confirming that PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Chelsea’s Sam Kerr will be thecover stars for theUltimate EditionofFIFA 23. FIFA 23marks the end of EA’s partnership with FIFA after 30 years. Thenext soccer game by EA will be calledEA Sports FC, although the publisher has clarified that the game will largely remain the same. EA had earlier mentioned that all the game modes, clubs, and players from theFIFAgames will be a part ofEA Sports FC. The game will come with Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs, and Volta modes, so it looks like nothing will change on the consumer end. Regardless, it’s a massive shift that opens the door for FIFA to partner up with other developers.
