A few months ago the games industry faced what many at the time believed could be the biggest leak in its history thanks to a breach of Nvidia, revealing almost all of the titles listed on its GeForce Now servers. Since then, fans have lost confidence that this leak hasrevealed numerous secrets from behind the scenes of many publishersas it appears many of the titles listed are placeholders for games that may never come to fruition. However, some titles, such as the PC versions ofGod of WarandSackboy: A Big Adventure, have seen formal announcements since the leak. Now, a very unexpected title from the GeForce Now leaks, a remaster ofFinal Fantasy Tactics, has appeared on another retailer, indicating that it could be real.
Final Fantasy Tacticswas first released on the PlayStation in 1997 in Japan, with a North American release coming later in 1998. The game is a tactical RPG set in the fictional world of Ivalice, a location that would house many futureFinal Fantasytitles such asFinal Fantasy 12. The game was a major spin-off from Square Enix’s turn-based RPG series, with a development team led byOgre Battlecreator Yasumi Matsuno, and went on to become a cult classic, with many fans regarding it asone of the best tactical RPGs ever made. The game was followed in 2003 by a Game Boy Advance sequel aptly titledFinal Fantasy Tactics Advance, with it itself receiving a Nintendo DS sequel titledFinal Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. In 2007,Final Fantasy Tacticswas remastered for PSP asFinal Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.
