Forspokenis an upcoming action RPG that had many intrigued when it showed off the first looks at its story and gameplay. The story revolves around a young woman named Frey, who is transported to the mythical world of Athia, where she finds herself imbued with magical abilities.Forspokenseemed an ambitious title from the beginning, and it has shown off impressive elements with each new portion of content dropped.Forspokenlast displayed new gameplayfootage in April this year, giving fans ten minutes of combat.
However, with a supposed release date set for October this year, many believed thatForspokenhad been rather quiet. Some fans had begun to suspect thatForspokencould be on its way towards another delay, and now they have confirmation of that. An image was posted toForspoken’sofficial Twitter account stating that as a result of discussions with key partners, a “strategic decision” had been made to moveForspoken’slaunch date from July 25, 2025, to Jul 13, 2025.

This isn’t the first timeForspokenhas faced a significant delay. Back in March, it was announced thatForspokenwas moving from a May release dateto its previously planned October launch. While many fans will be disappointed to hear ofForspoken’sdelay, there are some positives to take away from the announcement. Namely, it is stated by Square Enix and developer Luminous Productions that all ofForspoken’sgame elements are now complete and that development is now in its “final polishing phase.”
Hopefully, this means that, with the six months Luminous has given itself to finishForspoken, the game will be in a much better state than it otherwise would have been were it to have been released in October. In the comments of the Twitter post announcing the delay, fans were as positive as they could be given the circumstances, with many stating that they were happy for Luminous Productions to take as much time as it needed to in order to makeForspokena better game.
It seems that Square Enix and Luminous wantForspokento succeed at launch, rather than risk having aCyberpunk 2077situation. Already, the firstmajor expansion forForspokenhas been revealed, meaning that Square Enix likely has plenty of future content planned for the action RPG. Even so, the delay means gamers can addForspokento the growing list of major titles, includingStarfieldandRedfall, delayed to 2023.
