Genji’s Ultimate is shut down in a hilarious fashion during a game ofOverwatch 2. As a hero shooter,Overwatch 2includes 35 characters, each with unique abilities that can be used in battle. While many gamers have been showing off clips of how to use these abilities to make incredible plays, this failed Genji Ultimate reveals that things can also go badly if a player does not work with their teammates.

Known as Dragonblade, Genji’s Ultimate has been one of the more feared abilities seen in the series ever since the originalOverwatchlaunched in 2016. In addition, this ability is even more terrifying when used with other Ultimates, such asAna’s Nano Boost. While this can be a game-changer, it must be used at the right time to be effective.

One Genji player, unfortunately, found this out the hard way during a match onKing’s Row inOverwatch 2. In a Reddit post, a user known as YoBoi909 shared a video of an enemy Genji player trying to use Dragonblade on their team. The action began with the Reddit user, who was playing as Brigette, and the rest of their squad advancing the payload after securing the first objective. While they likely anticipated a coordinated attack from the enemy team, Genji had other ideas.

As YoBoi909 escorted the payload, the iconic voice line of Genji suddenly sounded from behind them. Turning around, the Reddit user sawGenji activate his Dragonbladeand dash toward the payload. Despite Genji’s confident actions, they were swiftly defeated after Reinhardt charged Genji a few feet forward, pinning them into the objective. The clip ended as YoBoi909 hilariously used their flail to brush the dead body of Genji out of the way as they continued to escort the payload.

When uploading the clip to Reddit, YoBoi909 said, “just a genji trying to solo the entire team,” as if it was a common occurrence. Based on the comments from members of theOverwatch 2subreddit, it appears that many other players have had similar experiences in their games. In addition, some gamers jokingly said that the player might have been inspired by a play made six years ago by the pro player Seagull on theTemple of Anubis map.

Unfortunately, it might become even more challenging for players to pull off impressive plays with Genji in the coming days. On November 15,Blizzard is releasing a new patch forOverwatch 2that is nerfing several characters, including Genji. His maximum ammo will be reduced to 24 from 30, while his Shuriken damage will be dropped from 29 to 27. While skilled players will still be able to make some impressive clips with the hero, it seems likely that his pick rate could drop.

Overwatch 2is available in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
