Brandon The Builder, also called Bran The Builder, is the character who founded House Stark. He was the reason why several buildings were created, from the Wall to Winterfell, and he was a member of the Age of Heroes' First Men.
It’s interesting to note that many characters who are part of the Stark family are also named Brandon, as they like to honor people by giving them the same moniker. There are around eight in the books and still a lot in the TV series. The blind knight Symeon Star-Eyes, The Grey King, Durran (who founded House Durrandon), Lann the Clever, and Bran the Builder lived during the Age of Heroes.
When these characters signed a Pact on the Isle of Faces, they had almost 4,000 years without fighting, and the First Men began figuring out how they wanted to live. This includes hospitality laws and other traditions.
