A newGenshin Impactleak has revealed more information about a new character named Wriothesley who has been mentioned in multiple rumors over the last couple of months. With the whole Sumeru arc coming to an end, players will soon get the chance to explore a new major region which is confirmed to be Fontaine.
SinceGenshin Impact’s release back in 2020, HoYoverse has followed the same pattern of adding one major region per year and going by their usual update schedule, players can expect Fontaine to arrive around mid-August. The release of a new major update is the main event for many players considering that new regions always introduce tons of characters.

A new post on the popularGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit shows the model of a new character named Wriothesley who is expected to join the roster in the upcoming months. There is not any official information about his exact release date, but it’s safe to assume that he won’t be a part of Version 3.8 since HoYoverse did not announce any new characters in the past couple of weeks. The new leak shows Wriothesley’s character model and manyplayers compare him with Sampo Koski, a popular character from HoYoverse’s second most popular title,Honkai: Star Rail. Many currently available characters fromGenshin Impact’s roster have been inspired by the Honkai universe.
Even though recentGenshin Impactrumors have been hinting that Wriothesley is a Cryo user, based on the new model, many fans suspect that he could be a new Pyro character. There is also not a lot of information about his rarity, but players hope that he will be a new five-star character. Wriothesley was not featured in a recent leak thatrevealed 10 newGenshin Impactcharactersthat will arrive alongside Fontaine.
However, there is a high chance that he will join the roster before most of these characters since his name has been mentioned by multiple credible leakers. Some fans suspect that he could be one of the three characters to be featured in the first Fontaine update. Recent rumors have been hinting that, just like the first Sumeru update,Genshin Impactversion 4.0will apparently introduce one five-star and two four-star characters to the roster.
Two of these characters, Lyney and Lynette, have been revealed in one of the game’s earliest Story teasers back in 2020.Lyney will apparently be a new five-star Pyro userwhile Lynette is expected to have a lower rarity.
Genshin Impactis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and a Switch port is also in development.
