Genshin Impactupdate 2.8 is slowly coming to an end which means that the long-awaited Version 3.0 is just around the corner. The release of a new major update is always surrounded by tons of hype in the community as it allows players to discover a brand-new region.
The new major nation is called Sumeru, and it’s home to the famous Dendro Archon, also known as Lesser Lord Kusanali. For those looking for additional details, the officialGenshin ImpactTwitter account has finally confirmed the release date for the upcoming Version 3.0 live stream event.

According to the tweet, the new event will premier onGenshin Impact’s official Twitch channel on August 13 at 08:00 AM (UTC-4). A couple ofGenshin Impactleakers revealed that HoYoverse’s original plan was to release the live stream one day earlier, but it was delayed because the Ghost Festival in China falls on August 12. HoYoverse has introduced a pattern of releasing a preview 10-15 days before the new update arrives, which means thatGenshin ImpactVersion 3.0should arrive around August 25. The ongoing limited banner, Tapestry of Golden Flames, is set to expire on August 23 and there is almost always a two-day gap between a limited banner and a new update.
The upcoming 3.0 update preview is also expected to be one ofGenshin Impact’s largest events as it will reveal more information about the new region of Sumeru. One of the main reasons why there is a lot of excitement surrounding Sumeru is the fact that it will introducethe long-awaited Dendro element. At the moment, Dendro is the only element in the game that can’t be controlled by any playable character on the roster though multiple leaks from the 3.0 beta have confirmed it has the potential to be one of the best elements in the game due to its flexibility.
Its ability to trigger multiple elemental reactions with almost every other element in the game will have a significant impact on the current character meta. The game’s official social media accounts have already confirmedthree newGenshin Impactcharactersthat will join the playable roster in update 3.0: Collei, Dori, and Tighnari.
Out of those characters, Tighnari is the only five-star unit which means that there will most likely be at least one additional banner re-run.RecentGenshin Impactleakshave been hinting that Ganyu, Kokomi, and Zhongli will apparently receive a re-run. Rumors have revealed that Tighnari will join the Standard Banner after 3.0 which has led a big part of the community to reconsider their decision to pull for him.
