When it released now three years ago,God of Warhad a lot to live up to and for many fans, it managed to deliver in unexpected ways. The wiser, more sympathetic take on Kratos as well as the introduction of his son Atreus largely attributed to the success ofGod of War. Now, one duo has managed to capture the essence of both characters masterfully.

A Twitter user named opal_inkcosplay, along with her fellow cosplayer baldsasquatch73, have done a cosplay of bothKratos and Atreusthat depicts the two of them hunting. What’s truly impressive, in addition to the costume embellishments being extremely on-point, is the emotion portrayed in each of the cosplayer’s faces. Kratos has this fierce confidence about him, while Atreus reacts nervously to the situation.
The sheer amount of Kratos cosplays to surface after the release ofGod of Waris astounding. It could simply be due to the character’s redesign, but there have certainly been a lot of them posted online over the years with quite a fewKratos cosplays even include the Leviathan Axe. It’s amazing how much popularityGod of Warhas received since the release of the latest installment.God of War 3released all the way back in 2010, so to have a new game in the franchise release over eight years afterwards, while also diverging from many staple mechanics, be met with such positive reception is very impressive, to say the least.
It will be interesting to see what the future ofGod of Warwill be. WhileGod of War: Ragnarokreceived an unfortunate delay earlier this year, there has been next to no official news regarding the game. No gameplay footage or story details have been revealed, not even a trailer beyond the teaser released last year. With any luck, more information regarding the game’s development will be revealed in the coming months.
