Over the long history of Activision’sCall of Dutyfranchise, some maps have become well-regarded or infamous for various reasons. One such map is Shipment, first introduced inCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfareand re-introduced in the current mainline titleCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is known for its chaotic close-quarters gameplay and thebevy of broken spawn issuesplaguing its new iteration. Now aGrand Theft Auto: Onlineplayer has recreated that map in a totally different context.
Reddit user WYarranton posted a video of his recreated Shipment map to the r/gtaonline subreddit Thursday, indicating it has been retooled to work inGTA Online’s deathmatch mode. In order to prevent the kind of “chaotic"spawns encountered inModern Warfare, WYarranton said they did their best to place spawns where they should not be in someone’s immediate line of sight, and also made the map accessible only for two to four players at a time.

The creator also says they have tried to “verify the map can’t be breached,” and made the containers that serve as its walls unclimbable to prevent players from having an unfair vantage. Since uploading the video, WYarranton has gone through and edited elements to try and remove bugs and exploits, and the map can be found on the Rockstar Games Social Club as a “job” for interestedGTA Onlineplayers.
Despite the issues players have come across inModern Warfare’s Shipment map, it remains one of the more popular locales for developers Infinity Ward to mess around with. Recently they added a new playlist onShipment allowing for 10v10 matcheswhich promises chaotic gameplay on a compact map.
Rockstar Games has also been adding content to its online games, includingGTA OnlineandRed Dead Online, in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic to provide players something to do as they are stuck at home. One new mission set added in late April focuses onhelping Gerald prepare for a recession.
That kind of additional content is not the only incentive for players to log intoGTA Onlineright now. By playing the game until the end of May, players canreceive $500,000 of in-game currency. While they’re playing, WYarranton’s Shipment recreation seems like a fun way to kill some time.
