After the announcement that Bungie would have to delay the release ofDestiny 2’s The Witch Queen expansion to February of next year, many players started to wonder if they would get an extra Season after Season 15 or not. Bungie announced Season of the Lost as the final Season beforeThe Witch Queen, and it makes sense because its storyline is setting up Savathun’s schemes to gain the powers of the Light. Players worried that Season 15 would last for a total of six months without anything else to do at some point, but that’s when the 30th Anniversary Pack came to the rescue.

Starting next Tuesday,Destiny 2players will gain access to the DLC’s contents, which include a new Dungeon, a 6-player activity called “Dares of Eternity,” and a plethora of guns and cosmetic items to celebrate Bungie’s 30th anniversary. The loot includes items inspired by Bungie’s past, as the Steam page officially states now, and there is a strong belief within the community that players will get a surpriseHalocrossover event.

After its separation from Microsoft, Bungie lost its rights to theHalofranchise, which means that it’s unlikely that a fullHalocrossover is happening, even though it’s not impossible thatHalo-inspired gear could come toDestiny 2. However, fans have been spotting strange weapons on the back of the characters depicted in the Dares of Eternity promotional image namely,Halo 2’s Battle Rifle, and a purple rifle that could be a Covenant Carbine Rifle or Beam Rifle. Rumors of aHalocrossover forDestiny 2started circulating after leaks from months ago, but the information might have been outdated or incorrect, so there is no guarantee this will be the case.

The possibility is there, though, because Bungie did reveal one of theornament sets coming toDestiny 2a few months ago, and there is clearly an inspiration toHalowith the Titan’s Needler shoulder pad and the Warlock’s Arbiter-like set andHaloring bond. Furthermore, while Bungie stated that some of the items will be inspired by its past, it’s worth noting that the Claymore fromMythis exactly that, and so seems to be the Shotgun fromMarathon.

WithHalo Infiniteofficially launching a day afterDestiny 2’s 30th Anniversary Pack, it might as well be a perfect occasion to launch a crossover event. Such an event would be great for both fandoms, considering thatDestiny 2andHaloare among the best shooters on the market, and it would be perfect to celebrate Bungie’s big milestone.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
