Tales of Ariserecently released a new trailer at the Summer Game Fest 2021 showcasing two new characters: Dohalim and Kisara. With a release date set for September this year, fans are excited to see theTalesfranchise come to new-gen consoles as Bandai Namco promises to take the series in a new direction.
AsTalesgames generally feature six party members, it looks like Dohalim and Kisara round off the cast forTales of Ariseas they join Alphen, Shionne, Law, and Rinwell.While the backstories for Dohalim and Kisara remain shrouded in mystery, they appear to believe in the coexistence of Dahnas and Renans as they help Alphen in his quest.

Dohalim and Kisara in Tales of Arise
ThenewestTales of Arisetrailer at Summer Game Festintroduced two new characters to the cast: Dohalim and Kisara. The trailer showcased their voices and combat abilities while the official Japanese Twitter account gave a few more details about their backgrounds. In the trailer, Dohalim appears to be wielding a bo staff and it appears that he is able to use Artes to create a whirlwind of sorts during battle. On the other hand, Kisara wields a massive shield and mace that she smashes together to resonate during her Mystic Arte.
Dohalim is described as an eccentricRenan that remains friendly to the Dahnan people inTales of Arise. Despite being a nobleman of Renan, he treats Dahnan people with kindness and has a fondness for art, music, poetry, and antiques. Kisara is a guard serving Dohalim who believes in the coexistence of the Dahnans and Renans. She is one of the most physically gifted soldiers in the army and despite being Dahnan, seems to command respect from the Renans as well even while using their equipment.
Dohalim and Kisara’s Importance in The Story
Despite the limited information revealed about Dohalim and Kisara, the aspects of their backstories that have been shown are quite interesting in the context of the story. As previously revealed,Tales of Arisetakes place in a setting of conflictas the two worlds of Dahna and Rena often collide. Since Rena has superior technological capabilities, it exerts dominance over Dahna as it pillages its resources and enslaves the people. The cast ofTales of Arisecome from a multitude of different backgrounds in both Dahna and Rena as they attempt to forge a new path into the future.
In the case of Dahnan characters like Rinwell, they are rather distrustful of Renans like Shionne. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them come into conflict during thenarrative and side skits ofTales of Arise.However, the introduction of Dohalim and Kisara are interesting because unlike the other characters in the party, they’re already advocates for the coexistence of Dahnans and Renans. Dohalim and Kisara work together despite their different backgrounds and they seem to have a mutual respect for one another. As a result,Tales of Arisemight feature Dohalim and Kisara in an unique angle to help the other characters in the party learn to get along with one another. Either way though, the conflict between Rena and Dahna have set up an interesting narrative forTales of Ariseand it’ll be exciting to see the direction that the story goes.
