Where To Get Dark Matter in FF7 Rebirth
Dark Matter is a resource exclusive to eightdifferentFF7mini-games. It is a rare material with a rarity rank of 8 stars, and the in-game description describes it as radiating a “sinister aura." It cannot be purchased from any other vendor or farmed from the environment or any other enemy. Its use is to enhance six specific accessories.
Thankfully, the required amount of Dark Matter to enhance all six accessories can be acquired from the minigames once Cloud earns the first-time rewards for the highest rank. One thing to note is that, unlike other minigames, the Dolphin Show minigame is accessed by initiatingthe side-quest “Tides of War and Worry"from the notice board in Under Junon. This side mission can be replayed multiple times in order to ensure players reach the highest rank and earn the required Dark Matter.
Similarly, tounlock Cactuar Crush 3 and 4, players need to take on Phenomenal Intel objectives during Chapter 12 in the Corel Desert region.

Dark Matter is a vital component of enhancing accessories through Item Transmuter. However, before players begin to utilize it, they must acquire the recipe for unlocking crafting options for the enhanced variants of the accessories. The item players will be looking for is theTransmuter Chip: Ultimate Accessoriesreward obtained by winning the Six-Person Bout: Harmony of Discord in Musclehead Colosseumminigame in Gold Saucer. Once acquired, Cloud will get access to craft six accessories under the Accessory Upgrades tab of the Item Transmuter.
As it goes without saying, these recipes will require the standard accessory to be crafted before being enhanced with Dark Matter. Crafting these accessories requires components from tough beasts as part of the Fiend Intel objectives.
