Veterans ofDestiny 2would know thatKhvostov 7G-0Xis no stranger, as this Exotic Auto Rifle began as the first weapon humbly picked up by newly awoken Guardians when they started their first steps into the game. How poetic it is that The Final Shape brings back the Khvostov as an Exotic once more, and it’s already looking like one of the best Exotic Auto Rifles inDestiny 2, even if it’s a tad of a grind to get it.
The steps required are quite lengthy for Khvostov 7G-0X, and players are going to need to get their hiking boots on totraverse the Pale Heartin search of collectibles. Luckily, players can find all the necessary steps below to obtain Khvostov 7G-0X.
Complete The Final Shape Campaign
To start, players must havecompleted The Final Shape campaignand picked up the Destined Heroes quest from their Ghost in the Lost City. With this quest acquired, players need to complete Queens, Part 1 in order to unlock Micah’s terminal in the old Vanguard War Room. Talking to Micah-10, players can acquire Alone in the Dark, a quest that is vital for the future of acquiring Khvostov 7G-0X. Players also need to complete The Final Shape for the specific reason of unlocking the Pale Heart as a destination that they can freely explore as patrol zones.
Loot All 9 Region Chests
With the Pale Heart unlocked, players are going to want to open their map and see the Region Chest symbol in 3 distinct areas. There are 3 per area, and in opening each of these chests, players will obtain a Lost Encryption Biti. Players need a total of 15 Lost Encryption Bits to forge a key, but to start, take a look at the 9 Region Chests in The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse:
Complete Alone in the Dark 6 Times, Unlocking All Cysts
Now that players have collected all 9 Region Chests, they are going to want to focus on Micah-10’s quests, where she will provideAlone in the Dark. Each of these quests ends with a completion of a Cyst, and only then, will these Cyst Trials unlock for patrol areas outside of quests. Players must complete all six variations of Alone in the Dark until they have free access to these Cysts:
With all of these Cysts acquired, players can switch between them by interacting with the bird made of light just outside of the starting area. The starting area itself is found on the map in the three important locations: The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse. Each of these zoneshas two Cysts, interchanged by the bird. Each Cyst will also have Piles of Rubble, an interactive item that will grant the final 6 Lost Encryption Bits.
All Piles of Rubble Locations
The video above details where to acquire all Piles of Rubbish in the Cysts in this order:
Unlock Khvostov 7G-02 From A Chest In The Divide
Upon interacting with the final Region Chest or Piles of Rubble (depending on what players did last) they will receive a Lost Encryption Code. This new item can be taken to the Impasse, where players will want to head to the right, through the Divide, to unlock a new Region Chest. Upon doing so, players will acquire the Khvostov 7G-02, a Legendary Auto Rifle that is necessary to acquire to obtain the Khvostov 7G-0X.
There is currently a glitch upon the day one release of The Final Shape where killing Koftiks in The Blooming will delete all Motes of Light from players’ inventory. Bungie is aware of the glitch and has disabled Koftiks, but players who have fallen victim to the glitch will have to wait until a fix is made available.
Find All Visions of the Traveler
With the Legendary Khvostov 7G-02 acquired, players are going to have to hunt down Motes of Light, collectibles that are acquired through specific sources, with the first of those being Visions of the Traveler. There are 8 Visions of the Traveler that players can find in specific spots, and interacting with them will grant players a Mote of Light, something they will need 17 of in total.
All of these Visions of the Traveler are found in different parts of the Pale Heart, so this video details all 8 of them, starting from The Lost City:
Defeat All Overthrow Bosses
Players now need 9 Motes of Light to finish their journey, and they can acquire these through defeating every Overthrow boss in the Pale Heart. Each landing zone will have 3 bosses that players can fight in a random rotation, so it’s mainly RNG-based at this point. Players must complete the Overthrow activity, reaching Level 4 to summon the boss. When defeating a boss, players need to pick up the Mote of Light that they drop, as it is not tied to a chest reward. If players reach Level 4 and it’s a boss they have already defeated, just exit out of the Pale Heart and try again. It’s also worth noting that players should not rely on their Triumph Tracker, as it is incorrectly displaying what bosses players have beaten. Either way, acquiring all Motes of Light willgrant players the Exoticitem, the Mote of Primordial Light.
all 9 bosses and where to find them are listed below:
Obtain Khvostov 7G-0X From The Lost City
Upon heading back to the Lost City, players can head to the area where they first met Cayde-6, or forDestiny(2014) veterans, the old Speaker room from the original Tower. In this room, players will see 8 pedestals, where they can place all Visions of the Traveler that they have acquired. Once these have all been placed, a chest will spawn in the middle of the room, and they can use the Mote of Primordial Light to unlock it, thus claiming Khvostov 7G-0X.
