In the teasers and overview trailers that came out beforeLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealthwas released, several features coming in the gamewere revealed to fans. Some of these include mainstays of the now-rebrandedYakuzaseries, like numerous side missions to take on, minigames like Bike Delivery and DonDoko Island, and much, much more.
One of thesenew features inInfinite Wealthis the Street Surfer. Though it might sound like a cool class for Ichiban to swap to, the Street Surfer isn’t a Job – it’s a motorized eco-scooter. With a Street Surfer, Ichiban and the gang can get around Hawaii significantly faster than normal. The one downside is that players can’t unlock it until a good few hours into the game, but pretty soon after reaching Hawaii.
How To Get The Street Surfer in Infinite Wealth
The Street Surferisn’t something Ichiban starts out with– it only becomes usable after completing the introductory chapters of the game. WhenLike A Dragon: Infinite Wealthbegins, players see that Kasuga and co have established themselves in relatively normal jobs in and around Yokohama. It doesn’t take long for the story to really kick into gear as Kasuga goes to Hawaii after learning some world-shattering news from an old frenemy.
In Chapter One and Chapter Two, Ichiban spends the majority of his time back in Yokohama, giving players time to check out old haunts, like the Pawn Shopnear the homeless camp, and see how the city has changed over the last four years. By the time Chapter Three rolls around, Ichiban will have made it to Hawaii, propelling him on the game’s main adventure through Honolulu.
Pretty soon into Chapter Three, Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga meet up as part of the main story progression. It’s just outside Kiryu’s hotelthat players can find thesubstory called ‘Surfin The Streets’. After meeting at Revolve Bar,look on the sidewalk just past Kiryu’s hotel for the Street Surfer scooter itself. Approach it to begin the substory.
How To Use Street Surfer
Completing this side quest lets you use the Street Surfer at will –press down on the D-Pad, and Ichiban will start riding his Street Surfer. While riding it, if you set awaypoint on the world map and press the right triggerwhile riding the Street Surfer, it willautomatically start traveling toward that location, like a free Taxi.
The Street Surfer isn’t totally free, though. In fact ithas to be re-charged relatively regularly. There are several charging stations called Oka Chargers throughout Honolulu, and are shaped like surfboards. When your Street Surfer is low on battery (or dead and unusable), look for one of these stations and decide how much to spend to charge it back up. These stations also serve as places where Kasuga cancustomize the appearanceof his Street Surfer.
