Summary
As fans return to The Behemoth’s beloved side-scroller, andsurprise DLC announcementsencourage new players to jump on board, there has never been a better time to get started inCastle Crashers. Hordes of minions will throw themselves at players who can wield weird and wonderful weapons to slay bosses.
It can be easy to get overwhelmed inCastle Crashersdespite the charming and silly visuals, especially when players are under-leveled and continue to take more damage than they can manage. Leveling up lets fans put a bonus point into their attributes: Strength, Magic, Defense, or Agility. Getting enough experience to level up can be tricky, though, since players are given 1 XP point for each hit they land on an enemy. That said, there are severaleffective methods for farming XP inCastle Crashers.
5Giraffey
An Animal Orb Obtained In The Desert Level
Hidden throughoutCastle Crashers, players can find hidden animal orbs that will each offer unique bonuses depending on which cute critter fans choose.Giraffey is unlocked in the desert level. Here, players have to use a shovel to dig part of the way through, where they can see a pyramid in the background and a mark on the floor. When players acquire and equip Giraffey, they are rewarded with a 10% bonus to XP gain.
Essentially, when players land a hit, they will be given an extra 0.1 point of experience. This means that, for every ten hits, players will gain one bonus XP point, which will help speed up the slow process of leveling up. While some of the other farming methods are more effective, using Giraffey in tandem with them or simply playing through levels with Giraffey equipped will speed up leveling by a sizable amount.
4Low Damage Hits & Juggling
More Hits Means More XP
Since each landed hit gives 1 XP point to the player, and the amount of XP needed to level up gets bigger and bigger as gamers get stronger, fans should remember that doing a lot of damage can be detrimental to any farming attempts. If players prioritize putting levels into one statistic, like Magic, they can use that to get out of trouble while dealing very low damage to get as much XP from each enemy as possible.
Leveling up strengthshould be left for last, using the XP that has been farmed. This will also mean that enemies can be juggled for longer, with each consecutive hit in the air giving an extra XP. If players can master using low-strength attacks while staying alive, they will see their XP increase massively.
3Hawkster & Glowstick
A Build To Grind With
One build that will help players capitalize on enemies and get as much XP from every individual foe is the Hawkster and Glowstick build. Hawkster is an animal orb that will attack downed enemies and occasionally spawn healing items. His attack deals 1 damage, the smallest possible amount, which will usually leave enemies alive. The extra hits needed to defeat foes will allow the player to farm a decent amount of XP.
If players usethe Glowstick weapon, their hits will be weakened due to a strength debuff, which means that every enemy can give a heap of XP before they die. If players use this build in addition to leveling Strengthlastand trying to juggle enemies wherever possible, they will be set up to achieve tons of levels at an amazing speed.
2Electric Pillar Trick
A Glitched Method That Offers Lots Of XP
During the boss fight against the Industrial Machine after the Industrial Castle level, players will have an opportunity to use a little glitch to cash in on a pile of XP. If players can perfectly time a boomerang throw when one of the electric pillars rises from the floor, the pillar will catch the boomerang on the way back to the player, getting stuck while stillconstantly hitting the obstaclefor a single point of damage.
If this trick is done on each of the five pillars, players will be awarded 1000 XP in total, which is more than a full level until players are in the late game.
While this glitch has been patched out of the remastered version ofCastle Crashers, players revisiting the game in its original version will still be able to use this odd exploit.
1Troll Farming
The Best Level To Farm Experience
The most effective method of XP farming inCastle Crashers, especially when used in tandem with other methods, isfarming trolls in the Thieves' Forest level. A little way into the stage, players will face off against an enemy that flees from them rather than attacking, and that spawns in massive amounts of trolls.
Players should avoid killing the ‘Troll Mother’ enemy; they should wait for her to spawn in the largest possible number of enemies before cutting through all of them for a huge amount of XP. Pairing this with Giraffey and even the Glowstick method can lead to incredible masses of XP, but it will be a very difficult battle unless players invest skill points into defense to ensure the swathes of enemies don’t knock them down.
